In many ways i have. Cody died in a tragic worksite accident. He was such a good kid and spent a great deal of time in my home, his smile always lit up the room when he entered. I'll share one of my fondest memories.. I would edit pics for you folks on flickr and often agonized over which one i should post. He'd stop whatever he was doing, show a genuine interest in my photography and gave his honest opinion, than of course I'd post the one he liked the best. After i posted it and you all gave me the thumbs up, I would run to him and say "Hey Cody, they loved it!! You have a real eye for photography!" He looked so happy. That's how i like to remember him. Cody knew good humor when he saw it. My flickr antics made him laugh out loud crazy when all others rolled their eyes. Bah, to the ones that didn't get it. Cody had signed up and was just waiting to get in. He was so excited about his future in the army as an engineer. Hard to believe he is gone but his life shall not be in vain, he already has mended fences between people who now have bonded in their grief for him. Psst...up there in heaven...Rest in peace, raise a little bit of hell just for me,Cody. I miss you and always will. (I like this image of Cody because it evokes the feeling to me like he's saying "Don't be sad, M!" ) Losing a child is like all my horse wrecks rolled into one X 10. The pain is unbearable, my heart bleeds for his family...

I had a lot on my mind today. I knew I should have skipped the gym. I did a wimpy 1 mile on the treadmill and called it a night. Sometimes running clears the mental clutter, other times you can't escape, no matter how fast you run. I can't wait for daylight in the evenings again.
