Navy corpsman gives toy to teacher in El Salvador. LA UNION, El Salvador (Feb. 22, 2011) Hospital Corpsman 2nd Class Robert Medina, a medical subject matter expert embarked aboard High Speed Vessel Swift (HSV 2) hands a stuffed animal donated by Loving Hugs, Inc., to a teacher at Centro Escolar Republica de Honduras during a Southern Partnership Station 2011 community service event. The toys were delivered as part of Project Handclasp, a Navy program that accepts and transports educational, humanitarian and goodwill goods on a space available basis aboard U.S. Navy ships for distribution to foreign nation recipients. Southern Partnership Station is an annual deployment of U.S. ships to the U.S. Southern Command area of responsibility in the Caribbean and Latin America.
