We decided to take the 2.5 hr, 190km drive to Goderich. I have only been there twice previously. We have this book called "Top 100 Unusual Things To See in Ontario" and there were 2 items listed in the book for Goderich that sounded very interesting so we thought we should spend the day sightseeing and caching. The 2 locations mentioned in the book were the Statues at Apple Park Farm and also the 8 sided main street in downtown Goderich, where 8 streets meet in the center of town. Both were really neat. However just as neat and one of the many highlights of the day was also this location. It was somewhere outside of Goderich in the middle of nowhere near a town called Holmesville. This was a beautiful trail going along the Maitland River. It was a 1.2km hike to a cache that I have wanted to find for a very long time. The cache was a very old one called Better Than Boredom GC33E1 which was placed in 2002. You'ld understand the name once you got very close to the cache, as once you got there you would be at a sign post with signs facing in 4 different directions with the following: Boredom 9985 km, Work 9850 km, Stress 8750 km, Worry 9800 km. The Boredom sign on the top pointed right at the location of the cache which was an ammo box at the base of a tree. The trails in here are private, but open for public access for some activities. These trails were beautifully maintained and there were lots of interesting sights along the way, from the gently flowing river, the small picnic areas, the fresh spring flowers blossoming, and the bits of history than one reads on the signs located throughout. It was a very nice 21C day out today and within the first couple hundred meters of the trail we saw several patches of snow! We definitely didn't expect to see snow. At point point along the trail I looked up the hill and saw the pictured view so just had to snap the picture. Sunlight in the forground, darkness in the forest and then sunlight again on the other side of the trees heading up the hillside. The place seemed magical and even mystical. If you ever seeking something better than Boredom, Work, Stress or Worry, then spend a couple hours walking along the trails here. I highly recommend it.

Sometimes we drift away from the true art and form of nature. We get enthralled by painters, photographers, writers, and philosophers, and we forget to stop and look at what is available to us every single day of our lives. Nature. The perfect designs of nature are here for us to freely enjoy! There is no better composition, capture of light, showcasing of details than can be found in nature itself. Take a walk today and be sure to study the details of a flower, the bark on a tree, the markings on a pebble. Be entrhalled over what you see because no artist can improve the natural perfection that you can see right before your very eyes! Enjoy all of life, especially those gifts found in nature that are ours to freely enoy any time we so desire!
