PERPETUAL MOTION DESK TOYS - SPECIAL NEEDS TOYS AUTISM. Perpetual Motion Desk Toys
Perpetuum Mobile celestial sphere I gave a talk at the opening of the Star Vistas Exhibition in Bristol yesterday - and also had a look at the local area. There is an absolutely superb market just round the corner from the Photo Gallery up a flight of stone steps. In this market was the most amazing Mineral, Rocks and Fossils stall run by John Morris [worldfossils.co.uk] if you have ANY interest in this stuff then check out John's collection - it is unique and truly mind-blowing. At another stall I bought this fascinating toy - how does it work? It clearly has got nothing to do with what the instructions say - but it is rotating now on my desk in the study under very dim Sunlight (it is 5:15 p.m. and the Sun is setting fast). Perpetual Motion Machine
"Asa Jackson's Perpetual Motion Machine, designed and built in the mid-1800s to produce power and run forever." Local legend says that Asa kept his machine hidden in a cave during the Civil War and disassembled it when it was unattended so no one could understand how it worked. It is also said that he once got it to run for several days, maybe for several weeks without any external power.
