Block And Bleed Valve
bleed valve
- a valve that releases air from the central heating system.
- Used to manually turn on an automatic valve. a bleed valve is located on or near the top of the valve. It can be a small screw, a lever, or built into the solenoid. When turned, the bleed valve allows water to flow out of the cavity over the internal diaphragm of the valve.
block
- A sturdy, flat-topped block used as a work surface, typically for chopping food
- A large solid piece of hard material, esp. rock, stone, or wood, typically with flat surfaces on each side
- Any of a set of solid cubes used as a child's toy
- a solid piece of something (usually having flat rectangular sides); "the pyramids were built with large stone blocks"
- barricade: render unsuitable for passage; "block the way"; "barricade the streets"; "stop the busy road"
- a rectangular area in a city surrounded by streets and usually containing several buildings; "he lives in the next block"
Geese blocks
Just having a play around with some of the blocks I've received so far. I have trouble seeing the circles when it's laid out on the floor (they are not ironed, so all I see are the seams), so I'm considering sashing them so they stand out more. I'll also have to think about how I need to quilt the circles to emphasis them more. What do you think so far??
tumbling blocks
I am using "jinny Beyer book "The Scraplook" from 1985 for the placement of the light , medium dark placement. I am having to fight with myself not to select blocks by colour, instead just looking at relative value. This method gives a more random disordered view to the blocks which i prefer to the neatly stacked "baby block design.
