[4-30-2011] - From The Pitch Give them your full 90. Three seasons into their existence as a MLS team, I finally made it to a Seattle Sounders FC match. I wouldn’t exactly call myself a book soccer fan, in fact I’ll admit I could probably only name a handful of players on the sounders roster. That being said, Seattle has really taken a liking to their football club, and from the moment I stepped into the stadium I could feel the energy. Perhaps they came into being at the right time, just as the Sonics where being taken from us, or perhaps Seattle has always been a little soccer crazy. Whatever it is, the fans in this city have made the Sounders the model franchise of the League, with the highest number of season ticket holders and best crowd atmosphere. I look forward to many matches in the future, who knows I might even buy one of those scarfs. Oklahoma Doesn't Fit
Looks like the owners of the Sonics/Storm think OK is a good fit. Crap! The Sonics are the oldest professional team in Seattle. To the owners of this franchise: It doesn't take a new arena to fill the seats...it takes a winning team. The Storm filled the arena when we ran through the playoffs and won a championship. Remember the '95 Mariners? The icky King Dome was jammed packed from late August into the playoffs.
