Il mio angolo di paradiso
Il mio angolo di paradiso
Comino. (continua) Ciao a tutti !! torno dopo..!!..*Starlight* --------------------------------------------* * * * * ----------------------------------------------- Comino. A little strip of earth, a very small point on the geographic map situated between Malta & Gozo islands, with a population, if we can say so, of... 7 souls!!! It is said that between this seven persons there is also a policeman, that guard and look at the other six persons, that look at each others, continuing watching endlessy waiting for something to happend...:)...!!... Sure he has lots of work. Wasn't it better to make the lifeguard? :)... Touching eart and raising eyes I can see by now all Comino, a blue lagoon (is called really so), a immense swimmingpool of salt water sourrounded by spiky rocks, where a tiny and thight path was climbing till the top dividing cliffs like a long "balcony" , where, when it was possible, umbrella and deck chairs was placed. The just few available places were all taken at ten o clock, but while scanning, in the far right side we notice three deck chairs free in first line ! We all focus the place tracing an imaginary line of the path to follow and trying to hold it in mind we start to climb up the slope, passing between turists and deck chairs, say thanks in having enought rubber under the shoes to didn't finish to have slice feet (warning, no flip-flops here!). We reach the top, passing through the two only kiosk already in activity at this hour in serving hamburger (!), dodge persons, and after re-climbing down, jumping and bonking between rocks reaching almost the shore where...fortunately the three places was still free waiting for us.. :))!!... and here I reconnect me to the comment of "Todo_Modo" that hide a subtlety that only the one that have been here understand..."one of the most absurd places you can stop"... yes, ..because, if you are like a lizard, that goes to water only for refreshing a little and turn back seat for reaching an envy tan, well, this place is not for you; sure through my words you have understand tha

How rejuvenating it is to see the daylight lengthening. Already it's light from six to six ...and the clocks'll be going forward in a couple of weeks. Not so less than three months ago, Christmas Day in fact, when dusk was closing in as I took this photograph at around 2.30 in the afternoon. We are looking towards the City along Whitechapel Road, in deepest Londonistan, with the Royal London Hospital on the opposite side of the street. I don't think I'd ever been out this way ...although I retain a faint memory of the LT bus station at Aldgate in the early 60s... until I moved from one side of the country to the other nearly four years ago and this became my route into the capital. It's a lively bit of streetscape, bustling with life and, ah, ethnic diversity during the week, and there is some interesting architecture. The best of a good bunch is the Whitechapel Art Gallery, a little further along there ...although all these things are a matter of taste, of course. Anyway, I'm glad to have got the worst of the gloom and darkness behind us, and I can hardly wait for the aroma of the first barbecue of spring, the thudding of rap music from the open windows of our neighbours' houses, for the first sighting of an obese middle-aged man in tee-shirt, shorts and flip-flops, the whooping and squealing of teenaged drunkards making their way home from the pub at 2am or, the leitmotiv of all my summers, the sound of Mrs B swearing about flies in the room.
