Ahmadhee Baazaaru, the Local Market area, is the hub of Male’s commerce and trade. Yet the Presidential Commission inconveniently closes Maldives ‘Wall Street’ every day during the busiest working hours, causing traffic jams and hardships for traders. I had a taste of the horror yesterday when I happened to be in the area behind The Presidential Palace around noon. Can’t the government shift the premises of the Presidential Commission to a building in another area where security measures would not interfere with the capital’s economic activities?
