I've been experimenting a lot lately with color profiles and have come to the conclusion that sRGB is best for the web. Any comments on that? Anyways.... Crispy clear morning in Yosemite National Park. 2 weekends ago my dad and I went on a four day "camping" trip to the park. We stayed in a tent cabin in Curry Village, which was equipped with beds and a heater! Definitely not my normal camping style but 30 degree nights made that heater pretty comfortable. I can't even imagine how the people in the pop-up tents next door survived the night! It was freezing!! Any sane person will put up with such extremes to spend a weekend in Yosemite. This place never seizes to amaze me. It's still my favorite place in the world. I took this shot on the last day of the trip near the tunnel. It was a relatively quick hike away from the rode, but pretty sketchy none the less. Sheer cliff always scares me, but I was fed up with shooting next to everyone else. This shot is two differently exposed images hand blended in photoshop. Tech Details: Canon 5D Canon 17-40mm @ 19mm ISO 50 Sky: f/13 @ 1/50th sec. Foreground: f/11 @ 1/20th sec. No polarizer (I can't handle the vignetting at 17mm! Any ideas how to avoid that???)

Here I am, freezing, hair's a mess, and I'm getting wet — but I don't care! I'm going to get Rock Band! Jason and I went to the Best Buy in Bellevue to get Rock Band at midnight. We got there about 7 and thought we would be bored waiting in line for five hours. It turned out to be one of the best line waits ever! Someone brought a tent (which was great because it was POURING and HAILING for about 20 minutes at one point), a heater (it was near freezing), a TV, and an Xbox. We started the evening playing Guitar Hero III and watching the Guitar Hero episode of South Park. Then, just after 8 p.m., someone came over with Rock Band that they had bought at Wal Mart (they don't give a shit about things like rules so they released it early). We played Rock Band for the rest of the night. I sang lots of songs and Jason played lots of bass. We got two vouchers to prove what spot we were in line, kept one, and sold the other for $30. :) At midnight we walked in the store, grabbed some Combos, the game, paid, and were in the car by 12:15. I had thought about skipping the whole thing earlier in the day. I'm very glad I didn't!
