From the writing of Valéry (Le Problème dês Musées, 1967) and Adorno (Valéry-Proust Museum, 1923) on the role of the museum, we establish a narrative which questions the interplay between these institutions and the society.

Gilberto Bernardes, saxophone & live electronics

Francesca Thompson, recorder & live electronics

BlankPage was formed as as result of an ongoing collaboration between Francesca and Gilberto to build a flexible platform for improvisation with live electronics. The core of the project centres around a patch, and its extensions, built by Gilberto Bernardes using the programme Pure Data (PD).

"Francesca Thompson (recorders) and Gilberto Bernardes (computers) are a very promising new duo bringing together one of the oldest and one of the newest instruments in the history of music. Thompson's playing is at times delicate and at time nearly ferocious and this range of expression is matched by Bernardes dedication to bringing the real musicianship to the computer.
