Camp Gualala Another
one of our K-fam favorites! We spend the
entire weekend with our favorite college sponsored youth club, there
were 10 projects completed this year and with plenty of time leftover
for a swim in the swimming hole, where there were striped bass
sightings

A k-fam favorite! Each year, we drive up to Camp Caz to help this nonprofit music camp set up for the summer. With the help of Kiwanis and Circle Kers, this camp saves thousands!
Camp Cazadero April 12, 2008 Kiwanis One Day: Longfellow School Workday K-Family group photo after a hard One Day's work. This year, we went down to Longfellow Middle School to help them with a variety of school projects. There was gardening, some classroom rearrangement, cleaning and light handyperson work. What was expected to be an in-and-out projects turned out to go 2.5 hours over our estimated completion time, what with all the books and shelves and reorganizing, but our CKI'ers and Kiwanians were real troopers. We can be really proud of all our hard work. March 30, 2008

March 12, 2008 Frank inspires future musicians with his violin, music and literacy, a perfect match! This
March, Berkeley
Kiwanis distributed books to 6 different pre-schools. Frank even played
his violin for the kids! The kids loved their new books, and just as
promised, one young child stuck the book in her mouth.
Y.E.A socks
Berkeley
Kiwanis collected socks for Y.E.A (Youth Emergency

Volunteer Readers at Cragmont Elementary
Several
members
will be hiking up Spruce to spend some of their day reading to
K-2nd grade students. The students love guest visitors in the
classroom and reading out-loud helps these students develop as
independent readers. There were a couple glitches, but I hope that we
can continue to have projects with the local schools like these!
November 20, 2007 These Kiwanians are all smiles as they join the community in this wonderful project Crowds of volunteers come out on this cold early morning to help pack Thanksgiving dinner for families. We helped set up, then participated in the packing of the food. Our fearless president Phuoc climbed aboard the truck to unload. November 18, 2007 It's the annual Thanksgiving dinner! We'll be making Turkey, you bring a appetizer, side or dessert. We'll spend the evening eating, chatting and occasionally singing.

President Jeff gives special thanks to those who have helped his year run smoothly
President
Phuoc hosts his induction ceremony at Live Oak park. There we
celebrated the great work of the year prior and celebrated the new year
to come with delicious bbq ribs and heart-warming speeches. Kiwanians
from all over, former CKIers, current CKIers and other friends and
family came to give Phuoc their full support for this 07-08 term. August 13, 2007 In order to protect the floors and your tax dollars for years of enjoyment, we helped a local elementary school collect used tennis balls which will be used to cover desk and chair legs. The tennis balls second as a noise reducer as the padding provided by the balls help muffle the sound of metal chairs and table legs on the ground. And it's good for the environment! The balls that otherwise would be tossed into the landfills will be used in the classroom for years and years! (Love for Schools now called Project reServe) May 6, 2007 Kiwanian and CircleKers pose to show a day's hard work This was a new project this year, led by wonderful Don, It develops that this summer the track will be refurbished so it is fitting that Kiwanis and Circle K will gather at 9 AM to clean up the weeds and other mess that has gathered since our last work party there. Don mentioned that the Club’s credit card will be used to provide pizza, etc., for the workers
