Two & Three dimensional design practice

Established in 1994, Bennett Fox Designs is an Australian-based design practice working in both two and three dimension. Designing and making pieces as diverse as a solid hoop pine kitchen for a heritage home in Guyra, upholstered stools, audio cabinets to exhibition specific pieces, conservation and finishing work have also been part of the practice.

Research work has also been undertaken at the Woodworkshop at Canberra School of Art 2003-2005 to develop ergonomic performance seating for musicians. This is an ongoing project that not only aims to provide seating of lasting benefit to musicians, but also to utilise sustainable timber sources and materials in the manufacturing process.

I've also been involved in the establishment of Slow Making, which lays out a manifesto of ethical and sustainable making, and through its blog, provides a forum for ongoing discussion and development of ideas and possibilities.

The other part of the practice is two dimensional design focused around consultancy work in publishing and retail book trade, with an emphasis on non-traditional delivery forms and processes; as digital delivery becomes the main process within information discovery, the tools and processes we use will have immense importance.
