Key Club unlocks doors...what will YOU unlock?

Key Club by the numbers:
  • History. The first Key Club met at Sacramento High School in California in 1925
  • Worldliness. There are about 250,000 Key Club members in 30 countries
  • Roots. FVHS Key Club was chartered in January 1989
  • Manpower. FVHS Key Club membership is currently around 220, making it the largest club at FVHS

Key Club is a service organization for high school students. In order to be active members, students in Key Club must pay $15 in dues at the start of each year; attend meetings, held every first and third Thursday of each month in the FVHS Cafeteria; and perform 50 hours of community service each year. Going to Key Club meetings earns members one hour. Members earn the majority of their needed service hours through a variety of Key Club-sponsored service projects, such as food drives, peer tutoring, activities for elementary school kids, and cleaning up local parks. The options for service projects are unlimited and new ideas for service projects are always welcome! Eight additional hours for outside service projects are also permitted, as long as the hours are documented on paper (supervisor signature, preferably not a parent; number of hours; date; supervisor email or phone number) and turned in to Mr. Senzig.
