Benefit Ball 2010

Committee Information

Committee will consist of seven events, coordinated by six committee heads (2 for each category). To receive committee credit, you will need to participate in 5 hours of committee events. If you would not like to receive committee credit but would like to attend some of the preparatory events, your help is encouraged and much appreciated! Service hours will be given for all committee event hours. See below for a description of committee events and committee head duties.
Note: committee head meetings will be held on Thursday nights from 5:15-6 pm on the following dates: 1/21, 2/4, 2/18

Decorations Committee Head: Haley Hubbard, Angela Jeffreys
Decorations committee head is responsible for designing the decor for Benefit Ball. The decorations head will need to set the appropriate formal, fun atmosphere for the event. They will be responsible for designing the decorations (table settings, lighting, general wall and room accents) and organizing the set-up of the decorations on the night of the event. Decorations committee heads must be available for committee head meetings, set up of the event from 7-8 pm on February 27, and the decorations making event on Thursday, February 18 from 6-8 pm.

Raffle Committee Head
: Michele Yee
The raffle committee head is responsible for keeping track of raffle prizes, planning the themes and display of the prizes, organizing and setting up the raffle display table on the night of the event, and organizing the sale of raffle tickets at the door on the night of the event. The raffle head is also responsible for organizing the Kaplan course signatures list that is required for student organizations to obtain a Kaplan course. Details about this will be given at the first head meeting. Raffle committee head must be available for the committee head meetings, for the raffle prize put-together meeting on Thursday, February 25 from 6-8 pm, and for set-up of the event from 7-8 pm on February 27.

Publicity Committee Head
: Amanda Lotspike, Dominique Sheth
The publicity committee head will be responsible for getting the word out about Benefit Ball! Publicity head will need to keep track of ticket sales, encourage ticket sales to Prytanean members and the campus community, design effective fliers and posters, and be aware of publicity opportunities such as the Aggie and the Women's Resource Center. Publicity committee head will need to be available for the committee head meetings and for the poster making party on Thursday, January 28 from 6-8 pm. Publicity head should also be prepared to coordinate tabling efforts in the MU.

Food Committee Head: Taylor Ely, Kaitlin Gregg
The food committee head will assist in organizing and displaying the dessert buffet. The food head will need to help decide how to get the food (be it baking, donations, etc), how to display it at Benefit Ball, where to store it and keep it until the event, and managing its collection. The food head will need to be available for all head meetings and for the event set-up from 7-8 pm on February 27.
