BAPS

The Bendigo Association of Pharmacy Students (BAPS)  are a student club run by the students for the students. BAPS was established in 2001, soon after the introduction of the Bachelor of Pharmacy course at La Trobe University, Bendigo.

Our aims to maximise and improve the experience of studying pharmacy at La Trobe University in which we try to ease the transition into university life as well as giving students the opportunity to network not only between the year groups in pharmacy but with students studying other health professions.

BAPS has a comprehensive events programs that aims to appeal to as may of the students as possible. We run educational events that consist of just about everything from complementary medications in pharmacy to business management, the social events are both alcohol and alcohol free with sporting events, cocktail parties and our biggest event of the year The Pharmacy Ball.

BAPS is affiliated with the National Australian Pharmacy Students Association (NAPSA) this allows our members to have a duel memberships. This increases the benefits they receive as well as giving them the opportunity to attend the National Pharmacy Congress which this year was held in Adelaide. This event is a great opportunity to network with fellow future pharmacist and learn beyond the classroom.

BAPS has an elected committee which consists of 14 members. This committee meet fortnightly to discuss events, issues and how we can make our club better. These meetings are open to all members and are held in the board room in the health science building.  The committee positions are open to all members and are ask to submit nominations at our Annual general meeting in the 2nd week of the first university semester.
