Who we are

We are a small, friendly, Crown Green Bowls Club.

The club is, itself, part of the Belper Meadows Community Sports Club, which also has Cricket, Tennis and Hockey (both Men's & Ladies) sections.

Despite being close to the centre of Belper, we are fortunate to be located in one of the most peaceful and picturesque places in the County.

            New members are always welcome

Club Contacts

There is a separate page giving details of the Club Secretary,

other Club Officials and Team Captains:       Contacts Page

Where to Find us

Belper is 8 miles north of Derby on the A6.

Access to the green is off the A6, close to the traffic lights at the junction with the A517 (to Ashbourne), at 'The Triangle'. Travelling north on the A6, take the left turn immediately before the traffic lights, then turn immediately left down the side of Christ Church, following the road alongside Belper Town FC to the Belper Meadows Sports Club (the Bowls Club is to the right, behind the pavilion and adjacent to the tennis courts).

The map/ satellite image below shows the location of the bowling green.

The map is searchable- you can zoom in or out (mouse-wheel or +/- buttons),                                        or move the centre of the map by dragging it.

Photo Gallery

We are grateful to Terry Fletcher for the many photos he has taken over recent seasons. View them (and many others) in the Photo Gallery; there are photos from competitions, league matches and general bowling.

Green Opening

The following information only applies to the month of APRIL 2025 down at the Meadows Bowling green

Some Leagues are not starting until May , as a result there are only 4 Home League matches in April and looking at how they fall , I have decided to split each April Week into two.

Monday , Tuesday , and Wednesdays  the Green will be open for Bowling- this will be generally be between 11.00- 15.00 - and  also in the evening (but not with floodlights) if preferable.   - BUT please note on Monday 7th , Wednesday 9th,Wednesday 23rd and Monday 28th - there are HOME League matches - any social bowling will need to be between

10.30 and noon on those days.

So please note that in April - Social Bowling  moves from Friday to Tuesday

The Green will be closed to ALL Bowling on Thursdays , Fridays , Saturdays and Sundays - which will allow the Groundsman to put on fertiliser treatments and the need to water them in and complete other maintenance issues

This notice only applies to APRIL 2025. and will be replaced in due course by a further notice which will cover the remainder of the season
