Preparing Our Students in an Information Age
This website was developed by concerned parents and community members after we learned that all middle school and high school teacher-librarians were removed from Bellevue School District libraries; the Library Media Program was the only academic program that was completely eliminated at the secondary school level.

We believe that access to libraries and a certified teacher-librarian is critical to ensure that Bellevue School District students graduate information-literate, technologically savvy, and as impassioned skillful readers who will be successful in college and in life as informed, involved and enlightened citizens .

Whether you are a parent, student, teacher, or community member, we invite you to explore this site to learn more about the issue.

Sign the petition to keep librarians in schools
Two years ago, 3 Moms in Spokane, decided that they couldn't accept the cuts their school district proposed to make to the library program, and
founded Fund Our Future Washington.  They started a petition that spread across the state.  Currently there are signatures from Bellevue, Medina, Clyde Hill and Beaux Arts Village.  Please click here and sign the petition, but more importantly, LEAVE COMMENTS about what the library program means to our children. Encourage others to sign, too.
