Welcome!

Belk Scout Camp is located east of Mint Hill on 286 acres of pines, hardwoods, and open fields.  Two major streams, Clear Creek and Long’s Branch are located on the property.

The camp is located at the easternmost point of Mecklenburg County and has property located in Mecklenburg, Union and Cabarrus counties.  A 100+ year old surveyor’s monument stands at the point where these counties intersect.  Belk Scout Camp is situated between Brief Road in Union County and McManus Road in Mecklenburg County.  From Brief Road you approach the camp on Black Road and from McManus Road you approach the camp on Belt Road.  It is about 25 minutes from downtown Charlotte to the camp entrance

This property was acquired by the Mecklenburg County Council, Boy Scouts of America, in 1987 and originally named Clear Creek Scout Camp.  The name was changed in September, 2007 to Belk Scout Camp in memory of former Charlotte Mayor, John M. Belk.

The camp is available almost any time that you wish to use it.  It will be closed for some of the holiday weekends during the year and closes at noon on Sundays.  Holiday dates are listed on the Council Calendar.

Belk Scout Camp is available for all units registered with the Boy Scouts of America and is used to host special District, Council and Order of the Arrow events.  When not reserved by one of our registered units/groups, it will be available for a fee to other groups with ideals that reflect the values of Scouting.  Out-of-council units are charged $1 per day, per person to use the camp.  There is no fee for in-council units to use camp.
