Our Honeymoon in Fiji
My DH surprised me with our entire honeymoon. I didn't have to worry about that aspect of planning and loved everything he arranged. I wouldn't have changed a thing.
After an 11 hour flight we landed in Nadi, Fiji at 5 o'clock in the morning.
After 23 straight hours of traveling from NY we were very anxious to check in and shower.
Once landing in Nadi we took an hour and a half long bus ride to The Outrigger Resort and Spa, just outside of Sigatoka, Fiji. We stayed at the Outrigger for five nights. We were lucky enough to be the only people on the bus and were able to really talk to our bus driver. He was an amazing man and was willing to share with us about his him country. We learned a lot from him in those two hours. This region of Fiji is also known as the Coral Coast. While the beaches are beautiful to look at they are very hard, and well, corally. This isn't an area to visit if you're looking to be a beach bum.
From the Outrigger we took a helicopter ride to Matamanoa Resort, on Matamanoa Island. We stayed here for seven nights. Matamanoa is part of the Mamanuca Island chain. Our resort was the only thing located on the island. Matamanoa had absolutely beautiful beaches and tons of stuff to do.
