Welcome to our Home.
We bought our home in August of 2005. Our home was built in 1907 and is a 1600 square foot, three bedroom, one bath Colonial.
We bought our home through a foreclosure. Somehow I was able to talk Tony into it- despite it's state of disrepair. The previous owners removed [and burned] all of the woodwork and molding throughout the house. There were also random screws and holes in the walls all over the house.
We spent the first few years in our home making it livable. Only recently have we been able to start to start buying new things and decorate to our tastes.

Repairs to this room were primarily aesthetic. I took out the putting green carpet, washed everything down and finished it off with a couple coats of paint.
The wicker furniture was handed down from my mother and the pillows were purchased from Big Lots.
The Downstairs.
Unfortunately I have one digital before picture of the downstairs. Some day I'll scan in the prints I have.

ith a fresh coat of paint, and the baseboard molding in.

The furniture is my college furniture. As soon as I get around to cleaning and selling my wedding dress we're going to begin redecorating the living room.
I found the trunk at an antique sale.

The table is an antique handed down through my family; my grandmother predicts that it is 112 years old.
I rescued the dresser/buffet from a friend's basement in college. One of these days I'll get around to refinishing it.

The previous owners updated the kitchen cabinetry. We painted, replaced the hardware, installed woodwork and purchased all new appliances.

DH and I love to cook. Our little corner is absolutely perfect for us. The counter to the right of the stove is a butcher block and the drawers and lazy suzan hold all of our supplies nice and close to where we do our food preparation.

Apparently two people require a normal refrigerator, a wine fridge and a beer fridge...

Future projects: upgrading those god-awful green laminate counter tops.
Our Upstairs.
Yep. Navy blue walls with green carpet.
What you can't see is that that carpet had pink dots on it, and that it smelled like dog urine.
Bathroom.
Before
Yes, that's a shell shaped sink you see.
We bought a how-to book, asked questions at Lowe's and rented a wet saw. We took a Friday off of work and spent a long weekend working. Well worth it. It was actually the completion of this project, without killing each other, that we realized we were ready to take a stab at married life. :)
After
We regretted not replacing the sink cabinet when we tiled the floor so I refinished it and replaced the hardware when I redecorated.
The den.
Before
The once beautiful hardwood floors were painted the same baby blue as the walls. No, the previous owner had not just had a baby boy.

This room used to be our office/reptile room, and until recently wedding central.

The tank houses DH's snake, Percy. The gate is there to keep the dogs out of the cat's food and liter.
Now it houses the souvenirs we bought while honeymooning in Fiji, our Wii and it's accessories.
The couch was a Pier 1 overstock found at Big Lots.
Our Bedroom.

I refinished DH's childhood Sear's furniture and updated the hardware. The duvet cover and matching pillows are from Pottery Barn. The white coverlet and matching pillows are DKNY Pure from Macy's.
I'm still on the hunt for new lamps and pillows. I am also thinking about painting all of the picture frames white.
The Hallway.

Looking towards our bedroom.
We have pocket doors going into the three bedrooms. All three of those, the door to the attic or the door to the bathroom were bare wood that needed to be primed and painted.
During
Looking out from our bedroom, after we had wall-to-wall carpet installed.
After

Antique mirror found at a garage sale.

The picture collage we had on display at our wedding reception.
