Set in 14 acres of park land, the Lagan Meadows centre opened in 1997 and has since become a focal point for the local community. Since Summer 2003, it has become our administration centre for all staff. The centre, in a residential area bordering Lagan Meadows regional park, now serves hundreds of adults and young people from all over South Belfast. Many of our programmes are based at the centre including our incredibly popular series of cross-community holiday programmes, which attracts young people from all over Belfast. The centre also houses our Duke of Edinburgh award scheme and Friday Night Club, formed by young people who were hanging around in nearby streets. The Health & Fitness Centre is our main adult programme at Lagan Meadows, and has a state-of-the-art Cybex fitness suite including running machines, stair climbers, cycles, rowing machines and resistance equipment. A wide range of fitness classes are available for both adults and children, and sports coaching is offered at various times throughout the year. Our extensive playing fields are used for gaelic football, soccer, rugby and other sports. An outdoor training area, tennis courts and short tennis courts are also available.
