We meet on Monday evenings from 9:30 to 11:00 PM at Lotte Lehmann Concert Hall. At each gathering, there will be a mix of live performances by student musicians, viewing parties on the big screen, lectures & discussions on music, games, and of course, food! We will also organize group outings to concerts both in the Santa Barbara and Los Angeles areas; UCSB Arts & Lectures, CAMA SB, Santa Barbara Symphony, Santa Barbara Chamber Orchestra, Los Angeles Philharmonic, and more. Society membership is open to ALL students currently attending UCSB. There is a $5 membership fee per quarter and you must pass a "Dead Composers Quiz" before a full membership is granted. This requirement is waived for all music majors at UCSB and for those already in the University Symphony Orchestra. Please contact us at deadcomposerssociety.ucsb@gmail.com for more information. April 15th: Stravinsky's Firebird We will be viewing Firebird from Fantasia 2000, a video of Stravinsky rehearsing Firebird, and a full performance of Firebird given by the Vienna Philharmonic, conducted by Valery Gergiev. April 30th: Eddie Trager's Live Performance on his Xylophone & Michael Tilson Thomas on Tchaikovsky's 4th Symphony.
