Each year, the Smithsonian honors Hispanic Heritage Month. Visit the Hispanic Heritage Month website each September 15 - October 15 for more information. Two notable Hispanic authors are Sandra Cisneros (Caramelo or, Puro Cuento and The House on Mango Street) and Julia Alvarez (In the Time of the Butterflies).

Of course Halloween falls in October. Whether you like vampires, ghosts or witches there is something in the library to scare your socks off.
