Welcome!

The Bead Society of Central Florida has been a part of the area's arts and crafts community for 20 years. When the Bead Society was first organized in 1988, it was one of only 15 such groups in the country. We meet once a month to learn from each other and from invited guest presenters, and to share our enthusiasm for the wonderful world of beads. At our meetings we have presentations about the history of beads and bead art, information about beading materials and tools, and instruction on the crafting of beads into wearable art. Meetings are an opportunity to share our latest creations, design ideas, and construction techniques with each other.

Enjoy visiting our web site, and plan to join us at a meeting!

Can Constructon Project

The Bead Society donated $250 to the Can

Construction project. The project was to build a village and our

money went towards the building of the village court house.

The court house won “The Jury Is Still Out" award.

Bead Retreat

Our first second annual retreat was quite a success. It was wonderful to see so many members join together for a great weekend of beading.
Many projects UFO's and new projects where worked. We started the weekend with a trip to Eagle International, who so graciously stayed open late for us. Then we had dinner provided by Darla Deaton (Vice President). An continued to bead into the night. Saturday we presented a Viking Knit class, shared beading patterns and beaded a Victorian bracelet. Dinner saturday was provided by MaryAnn Simmions (President). Sunday we learned how to make a Wood Rose and a Right Angle Weave 3D Square.  A few of the projects people were working on are Christmas ball decorations, X's and O's bracelet, Russian Spiral to name a few. The board would like to thank all those who attended and provided so many snacks for everyone.
