We're Off to the Beach
an original poem by Mary McMullan

The winter is long, and I'm tired of the cold,
And frankly this snow is getting quite old.

My scarf is unraveling and I've lost a glove,
And I'm thinking of giving old Jack Frost a shove.

And if I have to face one more day of cold gloom,
I really may never come out of my room!

So Mother Nature and I have struck quite a deal,
and I'm excited to see how much better I'll feel.

We're saying farewell to that late winter gray,
Let's visit the beach this minute, this day!
