I grabbed the 64 bit version . Seems good except that live I can't get it to see the hd. , hope the installer fares better . Seems to lack tools like gparted in the live version . The philosophy behind the disc mostly explains lack of gparted . The lack does make the backup part of maintaining the recovery system harder . Solitare and the writer part of the huge office suite both worked . This business of letting no data move to anything permanent makes the live disc almost useless vs an installer . Basically you get a crippleware disc you can run live that functions as a sleazy ad for the installer . I may get brave enough to install this someday . I assume these severe defects like this that I constantly see now comes from the side effects of the vm. movement . The ability to vm. does not constitute reason to make horrid collections of software .

Dolphin was unable to dump things from the trash and free up space before the reboot attempts . My old puppy linux usb doesn't handle ext4 . 20110720 The Pardus 'corporate' seems to have a driver problem accomodating our slightly damaged canon ip4200 printer ; we often get no color or no red . Finally have internet here again , should finally get encrypted wireless but somethings funny about our reflashed wrt54g v3 or lack of ie. , so I can't just add encryption .
So I can finally make a linux recommendation from the recent stuff , for the first time in years , PCLinuxOS beat Ubuntu to #1 on distrowatch way back then . You will need to install an extra optical drive to deal with running the Pardus from an optical disc .

So bad I almost lost data responding to their justified RAGE ! Trying to relocate my hd to a 2.5" on a powered sata. dock to combat heat problem on 3 . To avoid heat shutdowns , I now need a kernel that doesn't use both cpu. cores and I have to do installs with a fan directed into the usb. fans or heavy optical drive use will trigger heat shutdown .

Trying to relocate my hd to a 2.5" on a powered sata. dock to combat heat problem on 3 . To avoid heat shutdowns , I now need a kernel that doesn't use both cpu. cores and I have to do installs with a fan directed into the usb. fans or heavy optical drive use will trigger heat shutdown .
