Breaking News!
Breaking News!PTI Drug Court remains a valuable community resource, one that has been working long and hard, since 1994, to help change peoples’ lives. Now, we are pleased to announce an expansion of Drug Court!---- with our recent qualification for a Veterans Administration grant, we offer free Drug Court treatment to our veterans who have found themselves in legal entanglements, chemical addictions and/or mental health issues. The goals of the veterans program will be identical to goals of the PTI program: to help our clients attain freedom from addictions and freedom from the criminal justice system. Veterans are given preference, but other non-veterans may also be eligible for this grant funded program.
Reminder----Friends of Brevard & Seminole Drug Court, Inc., is an organization founded to help energize Drug Court participants. ‘Friends’ is an IRS approved public charity. Through ‘Friends’ contributions, we try to encourage and help motivate our clients who are working hard to overcome addictions. The unlimited possibilities of sobriety are out there. The ‘Friends’ organization is designed to emphasize that. Anyone can be included among the Friends of B&SDC with a tax deductible contribution. ‘Friends’ has an all volunteer staff. That means that every penny of your donation will be used to help change a life for the better...right here in Brevard County. (please, send your contribution check made payable to “Friends of B&SDC”, to 890 Dartmouth Ave. SW, Palm Bay, FL 32908…..and be sure to include your address so we can send you a receipt)

FAQ's:
Frequently Asked Questions About PTI Drug CourtQ: Will I be allowed to continue using the Lortabs that my doctors have prescribed while I'm in the Program? A: No. All clients who choose to enter the qualification phase of the PTI Drug Court must also choose to discontinue use of all prescription substances that are considered addictive or that cause tolerance. Q: If I’m not really on probation, why do I have to report to a DOC probation officer? A: Even though you have not been sentenced to probation, you have to report to a state probation officer because you have a pending felony charge. All felony supervision, by statute, is the responsibility of the state; and all felony diversion supervision (PTI) is the responsibility of a designated DOC officer in your area. Q: If I pay all my fees and get my community service done fast, can I get an early termination? A: No. By law, PTI Drug Court supervision has to be a minimum of 12 months. (In some counties, the standard term of drug court supervision is 18 or even 24 months) Q: Do I have to bring money or anything else with me when I see my officer for my first appointment? A: You have to bring your folder to all meetings, but you don't have to bring money to any meetings with your officer. (the officer will explain how you can submit your monthly DOC payments) Q: If I think that I’m going to relapse, can I ask for residential treatment? A: Yes-just ask any staff member. They will request that the court issue an order to allow you to go to residential treatment as soon as a bed is available (usually one or two weeks).
