Excerpt from an article in the RBSUN by MARK BRENNER
The Association took root less than three years ago (2003) and already has well over 100 members, many of whom are residents of Rancho Bernardo.
San Diego is home to at least 400 graduates, and as people are becoming aware of the Alumni Association, the list continues to grow. Each event that the BCAA hopes to plan will have the objective of educating and informing all former students, and most of all, creating an environment of friendship and camaraderie. Each of the previous events has drawn excellent attendance and participation.
Among the many graduates living in the City of San Diego are Gloria Penner (KPBS TV) and Fred Gerson (Executive V.P. and Chief Financial Officer of the San Diego Padres). Both have been featured speakers at prior meetings; Gloria Penner at the spring 2005 meeting and Fred Gerson at the fall 2005 meeting. Both provided outstanding presentations that were met with great enthusiasm. They remain active members of the Alumni Association.
Brooklyn College's California alumni include Senator Barbara Boxer and actor Jimmy Smits.
