About us

The Bayswater Suzuki Group is a group of London based Suzuki string teachers who have got together to combine their group tuition on Saturday mornings in Holland Park. Currently we are holding groups for violins, violas and celli. We hold regular concerts, have European tours for our older pupils, and hold three summer courses a year.

All the teachers are members of the London Suzuki Group, and by extension the British Suzuki Institute.

String teachers making up the Bayswater Suzuki Group are:
Children from other teachers are welcome to join our Saturday groups in Holland Park if they are playing at the appropriate standard.

Groups take place on six Saturday mornings each term between 8.30 and 12.15. Younger children come for an hour or so, and do a group class and singing, whilst older children may attend a string orchestra session, a group lesson and a musicianship or singing class. Chamber groups are also available for the more advanced students.

The group holds an annual concert in a London church, and less formal concerts at the end of each academic term. There are also plenty of performance opportunities through the London Suzuki Group and the British Suzuki Institute.

Group teachers also organise some very successful  Summer Courses, and other courses throughout the year. The next courses organised by a Group teacher are the three summer courses, a Chamber Music Course, the Extravaganza and Sfzorando 2012.

This year the most senior children have been on tour to Valencia in Spain. Two  years ago some of  the children in the group played in Cremona in Italy, visiting Cremonese Luthiers to see how their instruments are made.
