A freestanding dishwasher designed to be moved from one place to another on a set of wheels or casters. To run, the dishwasher must be hooked up to a faucet and will need to drain into a sink. Most portable units come with a wood or laminate countertop useful for additional counter space.

A shot of the control panel. The 497 is all electronic and there are 5 programs for washing, the shortest wash cycle being 70 minutes. The integrated heater is controlled by the program.

Oops! I opened the 496 up in mid-cycle to show how hot the heater gets, when I realized that cameras don't do that :P It's hot though. It was rinsing a full load of dishes at the time.
