Cold chisel tool : Foofighters monkey wrench : Making chisels. Cold Chisel Tool
IMG 7591 I've never held a chisel so sharp before. I didn't have to clamp down this piece. I just held it in one hand and casually pushed the chisel across its surface. It cut like cool butter - not hot, warm, or cold, but like cool butter. It was *literally* that easy. It took very little force at all to peel nice shavings off the Douglas fir 2x4. I've never been able to do that before, and wish I'd had chisels this sharp recently when hinge mortising all the doors on the wood shed I just built. Not too shabby. It's especially nice that it's so fast to use. You flip the switch, push in the chisel and pull it out a few times, and turn it off. The abrasive on the slide does the work of breaking the burrs off the back of the chisel, too, so you don't even have to clean it up afterwards. Just push in, pull out, repeat a few times, and go back to work. Under the Jaguar Sun
"Bajo El Sol Jaguar" (Under the Jaguar Sun) A popular sculpture at the major attraction within the Living Desert is the Sculpture Symposium, a nationally successful sculpture symposium situated on a majestic hilltop within the centre of the reserve. The Symposium was completed in 1993 by artists from around the world, under the direction of organiser and artist Lawrence Beck. 12 Sandstone Sculptures highlight the skyline, all with a story to tell This sculpture was done by Antonio Nava Tirado of Mexico. The sandstone blocks of stone were so hard that cold chisels would not dent them. No power tools were used in this project, so they had to put out a public appeal for tungsten carbide tools See also: mini torx screwdriver set play tool set wooden handle screwdriver powered screwdrivers wrench impact torque tool micro electronic screwdriver cartoon screwdriver makita tool set antique chisels |
