GM: Car manufacturer, or deity? 5 year old Andy got to ride in Daddy's car for a few days while I worked on repairing the brakes in Mommy's car. He regards that as a special treat. What's so special about a 21 year old SUV? Apparently more than I thought. On to the story... Andy rides in a booster seat and can plainly see the seat belt buckle. This led to the following conversation: Andy: Daddy, what is GM? Daddy: General Motors. Andy: Oooohhhh... [pause] Daddy, what is General Motors? Daddy: General Motors is who made this car we're riding in. Actually, it's also who made Mommy's car, and Daddy's really old green car in the garage too. Andy: Wow! General Motors makes EVERYTHING. [long pause] Daddy? Is General Motors another word for God? Daddy: Ummm...No. I had a good laugh at this conversation, but at the same time I was very pleased to see that Andy makes the connection between creation and God. I'll worry about the subtleties of creation vs. construction for another conversation. Perhaps that will be a conversation that comes up when he asks about the Craftsman logo. He sits up in the front seat, harnessed in, and loves to turn and look at people in other cars when we pass them. He's so little that he needs a booster seat, but too big for the ones available! :) Similar posts: kids bike seat cover new texas car seat law thermo sensitive memory foam car seat cushion eddie baur car seat twilight car seat covers terry cloth toilet seat covers peace sign car seat covers compass booster seat reviews |
