BUSy travel

Somerset Province as part of the Freemasonry in the Community scheme have on offer a MINI-BUS.

This is available to any organisation within our area to use that you feel will benefit from such a service and it is up to you as local Lodge members

to recommend uses to make the scheme work.  The result will be largely appreciation from the local school, group, hospice etc. that uses it but it will

also be seen in good light as a Masonic gesture to promote Freemasonry generally.  Please give this some thought and feed your ideas on how it

could be used to W Bro David Gill as our Information Officer who will coordinate with the Province.

And well done to the members who supported our December meeting and generously provided raffle prizes.

We raised £216.00

That means £40.00 can be given to the Mini-bus appeal as agreed by the WM and committee, the remainder will be dispersed as the WM sees fit.

Its Behind You !!!

Oh no it isn’t, Oh yes it is, In December the first attempt at returning our Masonic hall back into a theatre took place with a Pantomime prepared

for young children – and grandparents.  Attendance could have been better but the children present had no doubts about its success, they shouted

and screamed their way through the entire show.  Everyone realised this could be the humble beginnings to a fresh new wave of activity in the

hall bringing the old place back to life.  Next year why not give it a try? You will experience farce that you can enjoy instead of some of the usual

farce in the building that everyone gets so worried about.

Grumbling Grub

The new Dining arrangements at Old Orchard Street are settling into a routine but there are still misgivings and areas of concern.

We need to gain a reputation of being a place where visitors want to come and dine with us but I fear we have a little way to go yet.

So, you are invited to play your part, Views, Suggestions, Comments and even Praise is needed. So why not let us have your reports, keep

it flowing and I will pass it on.  That way improvements are most likely to happen.

Improving by Degrees

For so long we have had a slow trickle of candidates when what the Lodge wanted was a steady flow.

Well now we are about to get wet.

With TWO candidates set for our forthcoming ceremonies the least we can do is give them all the support necessary.

Our ceremonies are second to none, our spirits are sky high but what is lacking is attendance, both from members and visitors.

Once again we send out a plea – PLEASE TURN UP and BRING ANOTHER WITH YOU.

That way our St Lukability will spread.

Have You Got Caught in the Web Yet ?

Are all of you who have internet facilities up to date with the work that has gone in upgrading the St Lukes Website?

W Bro Willie Fergus has been largely responsible for the many hours it takes to create and maintain this site, it promotes the Lodge, its history

and its modern approach well so deserves a visit.  Separate sections such as Home page, About Freemasonry, Diary, Officers, Other St Lukes,

History, Distinguished Brethren, Newsletter, Past Masters and a Site Map all help to show St Lukes off to the Internet World in good light.

Grateful thanks to Willie and any feed back to assist in maintaining its high standard will be appreciated.
