inspired by nati posting her wedding cake i thought i would show you mine, i did not make my own cake (unlike the endlessly talented nati) but i was very lucky to recieve mine as my wedding present from one of my best friends (the woman who started my love of decorating) the gorgeous narelle. it was 5 tiers (bottom two tiers double barrelled) choc mud with silver and white piped detail topped with gumpaste roses and silver leaves if i knew now wnat i did then i would have loved her even more for the time and effort involved in the piping alone lol!! it was supposed to have to big fondant bows on each side but i didn't know she didn't know how to do them (oops) so she just did them in satin ribbon. i actually saw the cake as i was about to walk down the 'isle' (we got married in the gardens of a heritage estate so the 'isle' was actually the front path to the gazebo so i cam out the front door lol) this was set up in the fromt windo of the 'sitting room' on an antique pedastool table and i saw it as i was just about to walk out the fromt door and made everyone stop sp that i could go and gush over it -little did i realise that everyone could see me doing this (including my poor husband to be waitin for me at the gazeebo lol! even now he kokes that he cakes have always come bofore him and he made a pun about being able to tear myself away from the cake long enough to marry him! (he is a funny man) but it was the first glimpse after i had handed the pick to narelle i never saw anything!!! so of course i was excited haha! so yes that is my trip down memory lane for you and my beautifull cake that i never even got to eat even though their should have been enough for an army!! it was a double barrel 12" double barrel 10: and a styro 8" so that was 150 desert portions and we had 120 people, i wanted enough for me to eat it for breakfast (surely you can't eat cake for breaky the day after your wedding when can you! loL!! but no cake!! it was all gone :-( oh well it must have been awesom is all i can say!

ian followed me into the women's bathroom at the church. and yes, we both went in separate stalls and went together. aww how fun. and just kinda weird. a long one today - left here at 9 to go get massage in highland at 10, then headed to mom's in griffith, then headed to hall in schererville to help decorate the tables, then headed to merrillville and had lunch at chipotle and then to meet jamie and a potential wedding client at barnes and noble, then back up to griffith to meet ian at his parents' house (he took train down and dad picked him up and they went and got his tux), then took ian to massage at 3(and i shopped at target), then to renee's in dyer, then to ross church in gary for the rehearsal, then back to highland for dinner at sanfratellos, then start driving home and realize need to go to target again, so hit target in the city, then finally HOME around 9:45. whewwwwwwwwwwww but we had fun. and today was dad's birthday, so renee and brad got him a birthday cake shaped like a bears helmet.
