Bath Plan We are planning on remodelling our bathroom in the next few months. I've been fiddling around in my stained glass design software (Glass Eye 2000) drawing out a plan. =) On the left is what the existing bathrooms look like. We don't use the half bath and are planning on taking the wall out so we have one big bathroom upstairs (we will be adding a bathroom to the basement before we start on this bathroom). On the right is an approximation of what the new remodelled bathroom will look like. We will be closing in the doors to the old half bath and widening the old door to 36 inches. The reason for this is that we need this new bathroom to be wheelchair accessible. For the vanity, I'm picturing a 15 inch cabinet on either end with a granite countertop. That'll make a 36 inch opening at the sink, so a person in a wheelchair can pull in there and wash their hands, etc.. The shower will be curb-free with no door (will be using a shower curtain instead). Grab bars and a shower seat (one that folds down when not in use) will be added to the shower. We'll add a grab bar or two around the toilet and tub, too. The bathroom needs to be redone anyway, so we figured we might as well make it wheelchair accessible while we're at it. Not sure about colour scheme or anything yet. We're still early on in the planning stages. UPDATE: We've decided to leave the chimney and work around it. Bath 3 shower seat
