A year and a half, I had been working out at the field house. I didn’t know him personally, but had seen him every morning at 6 a.m. on the dot. He was a tall, blonde, muscular man, who looked as if he were a couple of years out of college, and always found the elliptical trainer adjacent to me. My feelings of pride for waking up at the crack of dawn to exercise quickly subsided each morning as he ran on the machine at, what seemed like twenty miles an hour. It was way too fast. Seizing, he fell to the floor unable to stop thrashing. I saw the headphones he was wearing snap in half as he tumbled to the ground. I, along with several fellow treadmill and elliptical trainer runners, yelled to the front desk for help. Others took one brief moment to turn and look at what was happening before they continued running, biking, and lifting weights. The other half of us remained paralyzed in disbelief at what we were witnessing. I went back once, a week later, then never again; not because of witnessing a seizure, but because of witnessing the complete disregard of another person.

Sent from my Verizon Wireless BlackBerry I am continuing to go to the Fitness Center at the Valdosta Country Club about 2 or 3 times a week and workout with my personal trainer. This is the second week that Billy has had me do 4 minutes on the treadmill as a part of my routine -- 5 exercises at 4 times each. I've been walking to the mailbox and back twice a day for 5 days a week. I am watching what I eat. At first I was eating 1200 calories a day. Now I'm eating about 1500 calories a day. I have lost about 4 pounds. And last, but not least, I'm still attending my Line Dance class on Tuesday evenings. I'm not great at line dancing, but I do stay up on the floor moving for 1 hour and 15 minutes.
