Now were ready to perfect that golf swing of yours. There is no such thing as the "perfect golf swing" since everybody has a different body type and a different natural swing. What you can concentrate on to improve your golf swing is your mechanics.
Watch the pros closely. You will notice that their swing is the same every time. That is golf mechanics working. You want to impact the golf ball as close as possible to the way you addressed the ball. Concentrate on keeping the club head straight when you impact the ball. There are 6 steps to follow to accomplish this.
A) Fitness: You need to build up the muscles that are used for a proper golf swing. Concentrate on your lower back and your lower body as these muscles do more for your golf swing than your arms do.
B) Stance: Concentrate on your stance. Align yourself straight and get in a stance that will allow your body to pivot with ease.
C) Eyes: Do not take your eyes off that golf ball. Just like any sport that you are swinging at a ball, how can you hit it if your not looking at it?
D) Concentrate: Concentrate during your backswing only on hitting the ball. A good follow through is also something to concentrate on as this is important for speed and distance of the golf ball.
E) Practice: Get out there and practice your golf swing. Concentrate on putting everything you have learned to work. With more practice your golf swing should become a lot easier and more natural.
Another thing to consider is a nice pair of golf shoes. These can take a few strokes off your game. Your feet will stay planted which in turn should keep your body straight.
Always remember your golf swing is yours and yours alone. Don't try to be someone your not. Figure out what works for you and continue practicing and you should be shaving points off your score in no time. |
