Leon | Feb 27th 2000 - present Leon launched Bar Wars to an unsuspecting student audience on Feb 27th 2000 at Park Bar in Cheltenham, Student Union for the University Of Gloucester. It was an instant success and ran for a further 85 editions across all three campus. It then moved to Hereford with Leon where he's been writing & hosting the quiz since 2004. Leon is also a presenter on Sunshine Radio 106.2fm every Sunday between 12-5pm. He is also a self-confessed geek and lover of crisps. Amy | Jan 2010 - present Joining the marking team at the 301st Bar Wars is Amy. She describes her self as 'not a morning person' and started working at TGS with the intention of hosting Kids Parties... Bar Wars probably contains less maturity. Disaster struck in 2010 when Amy was stranded in Turkey by Iceland's volcanic ash cloud but she returned to brandish her red pen on your answers the following week. Mark La Mark | 2007 - present Some people say he invented the internet so he has somewhere to store his porn. Others say he marks the quiz in his own blood. Mark is our ultimate marking machine...kind of. He also used to live above a Chinese takeaway - no wonder Leon used to regularly walk home with him. A huge fan of WWE and Gavin & Stacey Mark was part of Bar Wars for over 2 years, and after time away has returned for more marking duties in Spring 2011. Jenny | 2004 - present Jenny is Leon's long suffering girlfriend. Completely oblivious to the Cheltenham back-history of the quiz Jenny proved very valuable when relaunching it for the Hereford audience. She was able to judge what worked and what was nostalgic hang-overs from the old days. So while Hereford Wars is a bit different from the Cheltenham version - it's for the better. Baby Wars | 2009 - present Introducing the heir to the throne. Baby Wars, our 2-year-old bundle of destruction regularly attends Bar Wars to fulfil his duty as chief-picker-of-teams when playing the End Game... so you never know, make sure you say hello to him when collecting your quiz sheets, and he may just pull your name out of the bucket. |      |
