1942 John Deere GM two versions 2010 Two Cylinder Club toy left, award right 1/16th diecast metal by Ertl. The left was as designed with electric starting motor, battery, generator, lights, rubber tires and 6 speeds. On right as shipped until after the war-steel wneels, 4 speeds, hand start, no electrical system. It did get the new style so it was called a GM(odern) and the Government let Deere have a price increase.

The kids played with a John Deere remote tractor that we picked up at the thrift store for a good hour. They built ramps & tunnels out of books, and drove him through them. Also, using themselves as bridges and tunnels. Simple pleasures.
