About Our Rottweiler Breeding Program:
Barefoot Kennel is an established home based breeder. We have been breeding since 2003 and have successfully raised and placed many litters. Our dogs are a huge part of our lives and family; all of our puppies are hand raised from birth. Barefoot Kennel believes that the temperament of a Rottweiler is largely determined by the genetic traits passed on to it by the parents. We want dogs that are protective in nature, yet gentle around children, family, and friends.
"Calm, confident and courageous, with a self-assured aloofness..... an intelligent dog of extreme hardness and adaptability, with a strong willingness to work..."
This gives you an idea of what to expect from a well-bred Rottweiler who has been raised with love, care, knowlege and respect for this wonderful breed. We feel that temperament and socialization are directly related to each other. That is why we take part in selective breeding. Barefoot Kennel spends a great deal of time with our dogs and puppies, socializing them and preparing them for their new families.

We feed Purina One Large Breed Lamb and Rice Puppy Food.American or German - What is the difference?:
We are often asked “Are your dogs German or American?” There is no recognized distinction between Breed Standards set by the Allgemeiner Deutcher Rottweiller-Klub (ADRK-Germany) and those set by the American Kennel Club (AKC). With one clear exception - Germany, like many other countries no longer allow tails to be dock. There is but one Rottweiler.
Robust and powerful; His intelligence, endurance and willingness to work make him suitable as a police dog, herder, service dog, therapy dog, obedience competitor and devoted companion. An inherent protector, the Rottweiler is self-confident and responds quietly and with a wait-and-see attitude to influences in his environment. He must be medium in size and his coat is black with rust to mahogany markings. (excerpt from AKC’s Breed Standard) We have attached copies of Breed Standards for both the ADRK and AKC. CKC standards closely follow those set by the AKC. Buyer Requirements for Our Rottweiler Puppies:
We look for buyers who truly want a Rottie, are informed and familiar with the breeds size, temperament and health risk. We want families who are looking for another family member and are committed to providing the love, care, nutrition and training these babies are going to need to grow into healthy well adjusted dogs.
