Roy's Lengthy Biography

Caution, Before Reading this Page
Most of this biography information is really, really old. I'm talking middle-school old! Some of it is auto-updated, but it all needs a good spell-check and rewrite. This is mainly here because there is nowhere else to put it. Perhaps I'll place this stuff on a subpage, and just have a simple biography on this page.

* I’m not as connecting with people as I want to be. I want people to see how caring I am, but I’m not socially well rounded enough to get that far. I have a lot of personality; but I don’t enjoy life as much as I should, and that limits my creative and social output. I don’t use much lingo when I talk, such as “off the hook”, or “rip it up”, because I’m usually too serious. Generally I just don’t remember any lingo.

* I'm depressed because I'm not on meds, and I'm not on meds because I'm too depressed. (2008).

* I’m a passionate person in love with people and communication.
* I’m attracted to elite fashion, iPods, overpriced furniture, and fast cars like a moth to a flame. But I avoid this worldly thinking as much as possible.

* I like my conversations to have a lot of heart-filled and logical meaning, while being entertaining when possible.
* I don’t often relax for long periods, I’m anxious and my guard is up, in anticipation for an event I can be passionate about. I’m continually wanting, be it intense action and fun, or strict alone time, or intimate personal time with people I care for. I continually want to be passionate about something, I want results, I want to make a bold positive impact on life. Yet sometimes, I’m too depressed to be anything but jaded.
* I don’t let people place their feet on my sofa.
* My bedroom has an elegant yet tropical theme. Glass sculptures, tall plants and bamboo, and many tassels.
* I hide my perfectionist tendencies by calling myself too lazy to do things twice.
* I use a guide when I play a video game.
* I’m the first to ask for directions, even if I know the way, but I’ll give it a break if getting lost could be more fun.
* I dislike the news very much; it’s deceitful beyond what we realize, and skews truth to an extreme.
* I like the Simpson’s because they bring up controversial issues to a world that doesn’t otherwise see them.
* I’m very much a child at heart; snuggling into blankets, watching cartoons, and hugging kittens.
* I get along well with people much older and much younger than myself.
* Sometimes I show off by being stealthy, but I always like everyone to know what I’m doing and thinking.
* I can’t eat much junk food, I get sick easily.
* I can't drink milk, and if I do I must take anti-foaming pills, or "Gas Pills". Otherwise I get a tummy ache.
* I think geothermal power will solve all power problems, and possibly nuclear, if not ocean waves.
* I'm strongly against manual labor and or physical work of any kind that isn’t fun, so I become very picky about how things are done when I have to be involved in any physical work. I would rather plan things out on the computer first, having minimal mistakes and increasing productivity.
* Personality tests show I'm analytical and organized (note this entire website), slightly obsessive compulsive, and acquire deep relationships rather than numerous relationships. But I'm generally not very fun. I'm a peace maker, lover, and information organizer. I'm not the life of the party, in fact I avoid parties. I do like cute things though, and fashion.
* I love green fields, rolling hills, nature trails through forests, beaches, and spring rain; yet I also require the modern convinces of a big city.
* My comfort temperature for being outside is much warmer than most people. I dislike snow and or any coldness.
* I'm into extreme health, such as liquid vitamins and jogging every morning. I love to swim, jog, work out, and eat salads, any healthy food rather than tasty food. I love being healthy and my stomach requires it, but I'm often too depressed to be fully healthy.
* Just about everything I do, I research it first. The main websites I use are Google, Wikepedia, Del.icio.us Bookmarks, Flickr Photos, LiveJournal Blogs, Deviantart, Torrentspy Downloads, White Pages, Gutenberg Ebooks, Googlism, CNET Reviews, Froogle, Pricewatch, YouTube Video Search, Ebay, Rebate/Coupon Sites such as cheapstingybargains.com; Download.com, About, HowThingsWork, Dictionary.com, StumbleUpon Search Plugin, Gmail, and sometimes Answers.Google.Com

In-depth Biography One

Bio of Royce Barber (Zume)... Thriving far outside the fantasies of today’s polluted complicated mentality, I like to keep things simple with a serene state of mind. I have a pretty Mazda Miata sports car, and a heap of computers, but I could easily live without them. I have quite a few shoes, too, as I do like to be comfortable when possible. I’m not always accessible, putting away the phone and laptop when I get anxious. Email me if it seems I’ve fallen off the face of the earth. I’m getting talented with art and technology, yet with everyone I too have disorders…severe depression and selective memory issues. I don’t ask that you understand. My emotional spectrum is vast, I’m in love with God’s creation. I’m many things, but I can be described in one word: Christian. I believe my soul is protected, yet by no means does that mean my life is an easy one. To be blunt, life sucks, the world is morally decayed. Perhaps I need to get out more. I’m precautious, yet my spirit gets broken every day as I grow spiritually and acquire wisdom. One breakthrough I’m moving towards is being more social and self confident. I’m the manager of a Granite Counter-top store in Fresno California; it’s a blessing if I want to see it as one or not. I want a simple life, a happy existence where I can help others in great numbers. I want many things, but what I actually need for a peaceful life is a mystery. I try to live a pure and calm life, seeking & being a mentor to my circle of influence. I’m pretty good at philosophy and exploring the infinite possibilities of existence, yet there is a burning emptiness as I probe further into imaginative what-if scenarios. I know well that intellect and laptops will never mean happiness. The foundation I build my life on is the Bible, and trying to be wise with my gifts. Meditation with the Lord makes me happy, as does sharing positive art with friends. I need to be alone quite often to break free from complicated modern living, to breath and take in nature. I spend much time working on my website, and exploring the beautiful jungle habitats in a video game called GuildWars. I’m a level headed man of 23 years old, dreading furthering my education but gearing up to get it out of the way. Perhaps a PhD in Computer Science, yet with heavy studies in Religion. I have a high school diploma and various tech school courses. I grew up building computers and stressing out, and I’ve had enough of both. I used to want to own a mega million dollar computer corporation, but I see too much temptation and distraction involved. Not all is lost, I am learning the stock market, seriously I think I will be awesome at it, I have a logical mind. I want…I need to be calm with whatever I take on. I walk to the park in the early mornings, looking at flowers and mentally redesigning the homes. I listen to Christian rock and Anime theme songs. I like to be very silly in online chats. I’m a fairly small person, an athletic build, but I look skinny. So far this biography has been helplessly random, but I hope it’s given you an idea of who I am. I like to be creative, I like to hug people, I like to feel loved more than anything. At my age I still play with kittens and Lego’s, and always will. If I can find a Godly woman who will put up with me, I want to be devoted to her and establish a stable family. I’m not emotionally nor mentally ready for a family, but these things are all on the Lord’s shoulders, not mine. I’m into self improvement and want to attend more Bible study groups. I hope to find friends in Fresno California (and the entire world) who are seeking similar things that I am. Find me at NorthSide Christian Church every Sunday at the second service, sitting in the balcony near the audio equipment. After Church at 1PM I meet with friends of all kinds in Fig Garden at Harries New York Bagelry.

In-depth Biography Two

Royce Barber is a 24 year old American residing in Fresno California USA. He’s an evangelical Christian, involved in the nondenominational NorthSide Church. He loves attending Church and likes to think people see Angels all the time, walking by and we can’t tell when we see them, they could be one of your friends as far as you know. Royce is a loving person, passionate about his walk with Christ, and emotionally connecting with friends. Royce is currently the assistant of a retired psychologist, and soon to be a co-manager at a granite store when he and his boss find the right storefront. He likes to look professional at all times, especially for church, parting his hair and wearing a tie. Royce does not have many “bad habits” that he’s aware of, does not party or drink, does not smoke and has never been in a courtroom (Update: I challenged a speeding ticket!). He respects the law, drives the speed limit, and has never done any drugs. Royce has many hobbies, although not professional in any given one, such as: writing a novel about philosophical theories, imagery poetry, 3D rendering, gadget futurist, digital painting artist, audio and video remixing, computer repair, web design, and archiving Internet website links. He wants to get involved in creating glass sculptures, fashionable furniture design, computer programming, and cave spelunking. Royce wants to eventually get a PhD in Computer Science and write programs such as his father does for his company Sonic Focus, who is in partnership with Intel Corporation. Royce spends most his time surfing the web or installing technical software on his laptop, meeting up with brothers and sisters in Christ, day dreaming about Heaven, and taking nature walks by the local parks and University farm. The farm reminds him of how amazing creation is, such as rain forests, ice caves, water falls, and exotic fish. His bedroom has a tropical jungle theme, bamboo lining the walls and tall plants in the corners. He loves to jog in the rain, has an athletic build, and tries to eat healthy foods. Royce likes to keep a serene state of mine, in order to reduce a severe case of depression and resulting memory problems. He also tries to keep a tranquil environment, clean and organized, while fashionable and natural. He tries not to watch TV, except for an occasional anime or travel show. Growing up, Royce’s main sources of inspiration have been: The Bible, Christian Music, his little sister Jaimie Lee Barber, Leo Laporte from TechTV, Paolo Soleri the visionary behind Arcology City. Nature and gardens, Myst novels and games, Final Fantasy game series, Japanese anime culture, music of the world, and of course Lego’s. As a child, Royce had low self esteem and didn’t talk much, and is still somewhat reserved and insecure about life in general. Royce tries very hard to be a roll model to those around him, in hope that one day he will have a positive and noticeable impact on humanity. His life is an open book, he’s willing to talk about any subject, and he hopes to make many caring friends in Fresno California.

In-depth Biography Three: I hope to clearly describe how the Lord works in my life.

I'm Royce Barber, a Christian in Central California USA. I'm mainly interested in Jesus, Church groups, fashionable gadgets, computer graphics, philosophy, software interfaces, and nature trails. I attend NorthSide Christian Church in Clovis California, a nondenominational Mega Church. I bring the NIV Bible to follow along. I'm currently reading the Bible paraphrase book, "The Message, The Bible in Contemporary Language". I’ve been Christian as far back as I can remember, but I'm fairly new to studying the Bible. I’ll soon be joining the NorthSide fraternity.
My Problem: I'm depressed and spend too much time on the Internet. There is a lot of fear in my life, primary of social events.
I can help with computer problems and or graphics. I know many of the best websites and tips to use for research.
I’ve been using LiveJournal for years, but I’ve yet to actively use my friends list. I tend to add too many friends and don’t remember all the people! I hope this journal stays small and manageable. I want to find some Christian role models and stick with them.
I don’t remember much of my past. I grew up in Washington, mainly Yakima and a little of Seattle. In school I was beaten up quite a bit and didn’t have many social skills. All my jobs have been in the computer industry until now; I currently work for a retired psychologist. He and I are writing books and soon to open a granite store here in Fresno California. I’ve lived in California going on two years. We’ll be selling upscale home products including pre-cut granite counter-tops in standard sizes, large rugs, hot tubs, large paintings, large mirrors, bowl sinks, large glass sculptures, and any other big heavy products we can think of.
People say I'm a levelheaded individual, and that may be on the outside, but on the inside I go to emotional extremes. I get passionate about what I'm involved in, and determined to see things through. This causes a lot of stress, as I'm often jaded but pushing myself to get through the day. I’ve always had to work for what I need, but that’s healthy.
If I had to take a guess at why I'm a born again Christian, I would say because God put wise people in my life who helped me to be calm, such as my grandmothers who had kindness and unique in-your-face truth. Another would be Youth Groups, Cub Scouts, and Christian friends being more appealing than worldly living. I need a loving community, attention, and thankfully I was blessed with God’s people in my life. They would never give up on me, and I won’t give up on any of my loved ones. I hope to plant a seed of faith in everyone I meet, although one can’t demand a seed to bear fruit. Caring for people is a slow and involved process, but I know that it all rests on God’s shoulders; for only he can see into our hearts and nurture the seed of faith. I hope that my LiveJournal readers will be blessed through my entries, and find peace in the Lord. I encourage everyone to find a Church family they can grow with, and stay active in Church groups. One leap of faith at a time, even though sometimes just a step, we can spread the good news.

Bio as Interview

A interview with Royce "Zume" Barber. My life is an open book so here we go...

* Q: Who are you? What would be your mini biography?
* A: My name is Royce Barber, I'm a Christian in Fresno California. I enjoy Church and Bible Study, and anything high tech or beautiful/classical. Such as... Sci-fi writing, gadgets, futurism (future theories), Internet research, the outdoors, making computer graphics, art glass, Classical English Novels, Ubuntu Linux, downloading flow-charts and QuicktimeVR Panoramas, and hiking. I spend much time on the DeviantArt.Com website, along with Wikipedia, and I'm quite efficient with many Google technologies. View my personal website at http://www.eh3.us/

* Q: Often people have a family mission statement, and a financial mission statement. What is your Family Mission Statement?
* A: I made this during a stock investing conference called INVESTools. I, Royce Barber, am a spiritual family-committed servant of a higher power; I am extraordinarily sound in mind, body, and soul; who brings joy and hope to the world through prodigious acts of motivational inspiration, teaching, financial philanthropy, laughter, and empathetic caring.

* Q: What is your Testimony of Faith?
* A: This is located on my Testimony page, here.

* Q: What does the deviantArt website mean to you?
* A: A place to be inspired, make life long friends, and contribute the talents the Lord has given me. DeviantArt.Com is the largest art community on the Internet. It has chat rooms, forums, advice, and vast art galleries. It's a beautiful, well oiled machine, ready to dispense an ocean of culture, activities, and relaxation. DeviantArt is fairly straight forward, but if you know the right places, you'll never run out of things to do. I do a lot of commenting and sharing my philosophies. I praise the Lord with fellow believers. I have one of the world's best digital art collections, simply by browsing thousands of pages of beauty. It's not just a labor of love, it's a fun activity of love. DeviantArt has provided me relationships, friendships, and many of which I've met in real life and would give my life for. I honor the blessings I've received through DeviantArt, and I hope to give back at least a little of what I've received, even if it takes my lifetime. I am Royce Barber, and I truly believe the Lord is working in DeviantArt. The entire Internet is it's own world, with it's own set of rules and expectations, and I find that I fit in nicely with the many kind hearted users of art communities, video journals, and question-answering forums. I only spend a small portion of my day Online, but in the future, I'll have a video headset with DeviantArt and Google running at all times on the underside of my eyelids. * Q: What are the worst things you've ever done?
* A: Not a whole lot by today's ultra-low standards. I stole a picture frame when I was little. I'm not always 100% focused on eternity. There was a stage in my life when I was interested in promiscuous cartoon images. I've lusted quite a bit, and don't always read the Bible at night. Not to mention I have a lot of catching up to do in attending Bible Study! We are all continually growing and learning to stand on the shoulders of moral giants. Interestingly enough, one of the very worst things I've done is not stay on anti-depressants.

* Q: What are the best things you've ever done?
* A: That's an easy question. My walk with Christ, and devotion to study of the Bible. Living by setting a caring Christian example is the best thing I can do. Morals and good friends have always kept me out of trouble, and given me much to strive toward. I'm fairly proud of how my bedroom looks, quite professional and elegant (glass sculptures and ornate matching furnature).

* Q: What is your family like?
* A: In short, they are really good people. Well mannered, respectful, caring, and wonderfully honest. My grandparents are Christian, my mother is Christian, and the rest I'm continually praying for. My parents are happily married. I'm blessed to have good people in my family. I didn't always get along with my dad and brother, but recent days are well. I've always had a strong connection with my little sister Jaimie, as our generations are similar in some ways. I have an older brother, and older sister, and a younger sister. I visit my family every Christmas, who live in Yakima Washington, a short drive from Seattle. My older sister lives in Hawaii, though, and soon to move to Italy. Personally, I live in Fresno California, and I think I'll live here for many years.

* Q: What would you say your future will be like? Family, career, hobbies, aspirations?
* A: I would like to be more integrated in the activities of my Church, and to have a family, to show the world what it is to be faithful and caring. I would also like to go to a big university and someday get a PhD in Computer Science. My mission statement explains this better. For my career, something artistic and level headed...possibly a safe version of the stock market, and or software interface design and computer programming. Perhaps I could open a large art-glass store. I don't need millions of dollars, I just need to be around good people.

* Q: Who are some of your role models, and inspirations?
* A: I would say God, my family and friends, and many Biblical characters have greatly influenced my life. Each and every person I've befriended has played a large role in sculpting who I am today. Spiritually, my walk with Jesus is always an adventure. Physically, I have friends who do nature hikes. Mentally, there are the kind folks on the DeviantArt and IRC chat rooms who help me research and self-study. I must say, the Internet is full of wondrous things, but it takes a great deal of focus, boundary setting, and self control.

* Q: What role, would you say you've played on society?
* A: Probably similar to anyone else. I live my life in such a way as to promote health, laughter, and Christian faith.

Here are the above questions, without my answers.
Reason for this, is so I can modify the questions to be a nice survey for public use, to really show one's personality. Feel free to use this, and let me know how you would like to see changes made. My whole website is open for suggestions. To think of answers, you might try making a mind-map.
