Pastor Steve Brown left private business for full-time ministry in 1989 with a heart for young couples and families addressing issues of relationships between men & women, husbands & wives, parents & children. In 1997 Steve was called to missions work, which he now incorporates into his work as an associate pastor. Twice each year Steve travels to Odessa, Ukraine where he ministers with local pastors and church planters. Steve and his wife, Laura Lee, were married in 1973, and have three adult children and nine grandchildren. Elizabeth Pipes Rooney is originally from the SF bay area, but left California for college in Illinois, where she graduated with a BA from Wheaton in English and Biblical and Theological Studies. Following graduation, she worked in India, Fresno, Texas and Georgia in churches and schools before returning to Wheaton for her MA in Christian History and Theology. She did another Master’s degree at Yale in theology. Following four years of higher education, she returned to working in ministry, planning worship for a Christian college in Massachusetts. She met Jeff while she was at Gordon, and they were married in the summer of 2003. In January of 2005, Elijah was born, and the Rooneys decided to move to Fresno to be near Elizabeth ’s family, and so that she could work part time and stay home with the kids. She joined the staff of PACC that August as the junior high director, and now leads the youth ministry and has primary responsibility for our junior high students. She loves junior highers’ curiosity and energy, as well as their playfulness and love. She loves high schoolers as well, because they are so grown up and they challenge her and make her proud. Jeff Rooney was born and
raised in Connecticut. He went to college in North Carolina, and
graduated from East Carolina University in 1991 with a BS in Spanish
Education. He has been a Spanish teacher for 14 years, including a year
in Colombia, South America. He has traveled extensively throughout
Latin America and Europe, and recently visited Asia with his family. He
is currently teaching at McLane High School and is working on a
Master’s in Educational Administration at Fresno State. Jeff loves
Jesus and working with teenagers. Serving in youth ministry and sharing
the gospel with teens is a natural fit. In July, Jeff was blessed to
lead our Senior High youth group on a missions trip to Los Angeles,
where they served the homeless and other people in need. Jeff has been
serving as our Senior High Director since January of 2006.
