Mission Statement

Page Introduction
The mission statement is to laser focus on the goal of the Outreach within the context of our church, and to allow an overview of what we are about, for newcomers and third parties.
This page will eventually contain our flexible mission statement. Below is a list that will be narrowed down to the specifics of outreach within the context our Church specifies.
More to be added, and eventually narrowed down to a few paragraphs, whilst keeping the spare information on a sub-page.
Two themes: 1.) Stay Biblical. 2.) Keep it simple/focused.

As According to Wikipedia
"Outreach is an effort by individuals in an organization or group to connect its ideas or practices to the efforts of other organizations, groups, specific audiences or the general public. Unlike marketing, outreach does not inherently revolve around a product or strategies to increase market share. Typically non-profits, civic groups, and churches engage in outreach. Outreach often takes on an educational component (i.e., the dissemination of ideas), but it is increasingly common for organizations to conceive of their outreach strategy as a two-way street in which outreach is framed as engagement rather than solely dissemination or education. Outreach strategies are linked to the organization's mission, and define targets, goals, and milestones." - Wikipedia, July 2009

"For Christ did not send me to baptize but to preach the gospel, and not with words of eloquent wisdom, lest the cross of Christ be emptied of its power." 1 Corinthians 1:17.

Tell them that the kingdom is here. Bring health to the sick...You have been treated generously, so live generously...Don't think you have to put on a fund-raising campaign before you start. You don't need a lot of equipment. You are the equipment, and all you need to keep that going is three meals a day. Travel light...don't insist on staying in a luxury inn...When you knock on a door, be courteous in your greeting...gentle in your conversation...Don't make a scene...This is hazardous work I'm assigning you. You're going to be like sheep running through a wolf pack, so don't call attention to yourselves. Be as cunning as a snake, inoffensive as a dove..." Matthew 10 (The Message).

""Are you tired? Worn out? Burned out on religion? Come to me. Get away with me and you'll recover your life. I'll show you how to take a real rest. Walk with me and work with me—watch how I do it. Learn the unforced rhythms of grace. I won't lay anything heavy or ill-fitting on you. Keep company with me and you'll learn to live freely and lightly." Matthew 11:28-30 (The Message).

Beliefs of Our Church
  • * We believe the Bible to be the inspired, infallible, accurate and authoritative Word of God.
  • * We believe that there is one God, never-changing and eternally existent in three persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
  • * We believe in the deity of our Lord, Jesus Christ, His virgin birth, His sinless life, His miracles, His vicarious and atoning death through His shed blood, His bodily resurrection, His ascension to the right hand of the Father, and in His personal return in power and glory.
  • * We believe that for the salvation of lost and sinful people, drawn by the Holy Spirit, a personal acceptance of Jesus Christ is absolutely essential.
  • * We believe there is no other means of salvation than Jesus Christ and we must be born anew in Him. Though God wills all to be saved, and all are invited into salvation, some will indeed be lost.
  • * We believe in the present ministry of the Holy Spirit by whose indwelling the Christian is enabled to live a holy and empowered life, and in all the biblical gifts of the Spirit, apportioned and used as He wills and the Word directs.
  • * We believe in the spiritual unity of all those who accept Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior, and we believe the central task of the Church is the Great Commission as stated in Matthew 28:19-20.
