Old Testament, consists of four sections; five sections if you split the books of Prophets into Major and Minor.
* Genesis through Deuteronomy, are called "Books of Moses". Also called "Books of Law".
* Joshua through Esther, are called "History Books".
* Job through Song of Songs(Solomon), are called "Books of Wisdom". Also called "Books of Poetry".
* Isaiah through Malachi, are called "Books of the Prophets". Isaiah through Daniel are Major prophets; while Hosea through Malachi are Minor prophets. Major are not 'more important' than minor.
New Testament, consists of five sections.
* Gospels: Matthew through John. The four gospels are accounts of the life of Jesus.
* History: Acts.
* Letters: Romans through Philemon.
* Prophecy: Revelation.
* Letters: Hebrews through Jude.
