Special Upcoming Events
  • Universal Kirtan: Joyous Devotional Chant from Many Faith Traditions. Friday, April 13, 7:30 pm at the Baraka Center. Devotional chanting from the Hindu, Sufi, Jewish, Christian, Buddhist, Divine Feminine, and other traditions. No experience necessary. Led by Mahbood Len Seligman and multi-instrumentalist Stream Ohrstrom. $10, includes snacks.
  • Weekend with Atum O’Kane: Navigating Transition: Personal and Planetary, Fri. to Sun April 27-29. Be with this beloved, wise teacher and master story teller. Friday 7:30-9:30pm, Sat. 10-5, Sun 10-5. $225 for full weekend, $20 for Friday night only, limited scholarships available. Please contact Jamila Gail Wellock at gwellock@verizon.net.
Activities
  • Advanced Sufi Practices and Meditation: Class held every Tuesday evening from 7:30 to 9:30 pm. An ongoing study of the teachings of Hazrat Inayat Khan, Pir Vilayat Inayat Khan  and Pir Zia Inayat Khan as well as many other wise and wonderful teachings from the world's different religious traditions. The class also explores the science of sound and breath, singing, and sacred dance.
  • Universal Worship:  This beautiful ceremony celebrates all the worlds’ major religions with readings, chants, candle lighting, music, meditation, and celebration. The third Sunday of every month at 11AM.  Upcoming dates: December 20, January 17, February 21. The service is followed by a potluck feast and social hour.
  • Kinship: A form of community service open to all.
  • Introduction to Sufism: A Love Story. A six week series of classes introducing the core concepts of Universal Sufism including philosophy, breath, meditation, dhikr, wazifa, and chanting. Explanations of terminology and key concepts will be covered. Please contact us to let us know if you'd like us to schedule another series of classes.
