Helen Longino and Branden Fitelson presented on the topic of Evidence from two different perspectives,

Helen and Branden have posted their papers for the Oct 29 BAPS  (6 to 8 pm) meeting on the following web-page:
Branden recommended that of his papers, his  #1 paper should be read first (viz., the "Wason" paper), but the #2 paper (the "grue" paper) also provides good background, and wrote that Helen's #1 and #2 are also in a good order for reading (the first one being broader and more over-arching, and the second being more focused on a particular sort of "case study" of scientific evidence).
