YOUR LOCAL CLUB – Just off the A414 behind the TALBOTThis month Joan says HAPPY NEW YEAR ! I was honoured to be elected as the new chair of the club at the recent AGM. Together with the full club committee we have already been busy making plans for this new year. If you click on the club calendar on the side bar on this page you'll see how far we've got. Some of the dates are still provisional so please check the details. Remember we have indoor short mat bowls on Monday evenings and Wednesday afternoons. If not sports minded, how about the social side. Forthcoming events include Whist nights on Friday evenings (7.15 pm). There's also Keep Fit on Friday mornings, very popular with members and guests alike. For something less active then Thursday morning may be more your cup of tea when we have a Cribbage Club. The newly formed Music Appreciation group meets every other Monday. Look out also for our other popular events like our Quiz, Bingo and Race Nights. Last year we had many new players and associates join us, all taking advantage of our two months free membership deal. We're still looking for new members so if you think Bantham & Ongar Bowls Club may be the place for you then why not contact us or from April turn up at 6.15 pm on a Thursday for our club night. No pressure - just give it a go, there'll be members on hand to show you the way if you need it. The bar will be open and refreshments available, bring the family -we're that sort of club. And if you're an old hand looking to join a new club- come and see our modern facilities, locally there's none better. For further information about the Club contact Joan Cooper, Chair – tel. no. 01277 362631 or check out our contact details by clicking here | What's the Best Thing About Our Club?Everyone's so friendly...there's always something going on...we can play outside in any weather...there's a professional yet relaxed attitude to the sport....social events and holidays mean it's much more than a sports club.......anyone can play, experienced or not, able bodied or not - everyone is welcomed.
