The Bangor Area Recovery Community Coalition is a group of recovering individuals and their allies who advocate and support addiction recovery in the greater Bangor area.BARCC’s purpose is to reduce the stigma and discrimination associated with addiction.BARCC celebrates addiction recovery and makes recovery visible to the community.BARCC defines recovery from addiction as a process of change through which an individual achieves abstinence and improved health, wellness and quality of life.BARCC embraces resiliency as the framework of recovery.

The Maine Alliance to Prevent Substance Abuse (MAPSA) and the Maine Alliance for Addiction Recovery (MAAR) are pleased to invite you to participate in a follow up meeting to the Join Together Advocacy Leadership Trainings to develop a statewide advocacy network on alcohol & drug related issues in MaineWe will hold one meeting in Bangor on October 8th from 10am-1pm and one in Portland on October 15 from 1pm-4pm to encourage statewide participation. Our goal is to provide a venue to talk about the larger picture of what we face in our field, how we can move forward together and facilitate a power mapping session to prepare for submitting legislation in 2010 and beyond.
