Roca Partida
Roca Partida
This was our dive site. It is an impossibly narrow needle of rock that rises from the top of a submerged volcano around 300ft below the surface to about 110ft above the water. Underwater it forms a wall that is so shear that it defies the imagination. The closest land is over 60miles away (and that is over 200 miles from Cabo San Lucas). We were well and truly "in the middle of nowhere." It is a magnet for sea life including Mantas, Whales, Tuna, and Sharks.
Shark Trails
Shark Trails
Taken at Shark Fin Cove, Davenport, Santa Cruz County, CA. This was my first attempt at capturing star trails and my first time shooting Shark Fin Cove. A near full moon provided the lighting and a rare clear sky brought out the stars. I wanted to stay longer but my battery ran low and I encountered a close-talking transient, amazed one could take pictures at night, who freaked me out a bit. Next time...
