Banbury Twenty: 95-5 (20 overs)

Horley: 96-5 (19 overs)

Elected to bat XX slumped to 5 for 2 as both openers failed to trouble the scorers.
Ateeb Rehman 31 and Basit Ahmed 15 pulled the innings round and a quick 12no from Arvinder Rai realised a total of 95 for 5 in their 20 overs. Horley started as badly with both their openers failing to score as Naimann Mohammed 2 for 15 and Aqib Azhar 1 for 4 bowled good opening spells . In what was a close game XX conceded 16 wides to give Horley the momentum and they reached victory at 96 for 5 in the 19 over.

Banbury Twenty : 120 for 2 ( 20 overs )
Ben James 32no , Aqib Azhar 25 , Ed Fraye 19 , Basit Ahmed 10no

Fenny Compton : 78 all out ( 19.2 overs )

XX won their opening match by 42 runs. Batting first the foundations were laid in an opening partnership of 55 in ten overs by Aqib Axhar 25 and newcomer Ed Fraye 19. Ben James took over with a well made 32no to steer XX to 120 for 2. Fenny were indebted to opener Hartwell who looked like winning the match on his own with 53 but lacked any support as Aqib finished off the innings with 5 for 2 including a hat trick. Naiman Mohammed bowled a good opening spell without any luck and Sohail Ali to 1 for 13 in 4 overs of left arm spin. Ben James 2 for 9 was the other main wicket taker as 8 bowlers were tried out in this opening match.
